Candice Stratton, Legal Assistant, Intake

Candice C. Stratton is a Nashville native.  She grew up in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, with her parents and younger sister. She attended and graduated from Beech Senior High School in Hendersonville, Tennessee in 2006. Afterwards, she attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. In 2010, received her B.A. in English with a minor in Spanish. In 2017, she graduated magna cum laude from Bethel University, earning her MBA with a concentration in human resource management. While attending graduate school, Candice also became a member of the Nashville chapter of Urban League Young Professionals of Middle Tennessee.

 

Prior to working with the Nashville Defenders, Candice worked for the Davidson County Juvenile Court Clerk’s Office under the Juvenile Court Clerk, David Smith. She worked as a Deputy Courtroom Clerk, first for Magistrate Scott Rosenberg and then Magistrate Julie Ottman. She experienced up close the hard times and difficulties parents and children face daily when dealing with child support/parentage cases, custody battles, and neglectful situations.

 

Candice enjoys spending quality time with her mom and friends, reading, shopping, getting monthly massages, relaxing on the couch at home, and “brunching” on the weekends. Most importantly, she loves her furry baby, Mia Stratton, and enjoys coming home to her each day.
