Meet the Defenders

Joan Lawson received her undergraduate degree in history and political science from Westminster College and her law degree from Vanderbilt University. After clerking for Chancellor C. Allen High, she began her career in the Public Defender’s Office where she has served the Nashville community for almost 30 years.

Joan enjoys reading and is an avid sports fan cheering on the Titans and Predators.
