Holly Ruskin – Attorney

Holly was born and raised in Southwest Indiana. She graduated from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, with a major in political science and a double minor in criminal justice and paralegal studies. After graduation, Holly accepted a job with CNA Insurance in Nashville. After living and working in Nashville for two years, she moved to Chicago, Illinois, to attend DePaul University College of Law, where she received her J.D. While in law school, Holly focused on public interest law and worked for the Chicago Committee for Better Housing, Chicago Legal Clinic, and Legal Aid Society of Chicago.

In 2000, Holly moved back to Nashville and began her legal career at the Metro Public Defender’s Office. After six and a half years with the Public Defender’s Office, she left to open her own law office, where she practiced family law, child welfare law, juvenile delinquency law, and special education law. After nearly 19 years in private practice, Holly is honored to return to the Public Defender’s Office to continue to serve and work with children and their families in Davidson County.
