Hola, my name is Barbara Gonzalez. I`ve been in Nashville for about 17 years now, so I consider Nashville as my home. I was born in Miami, FL, and raised in Austin, TX. I am a mother of 4 kids, who range from 13 years of age to 24. I`m also a grandmother of 3. I love to travel and have family time. I am of Cuban descent, so I also love to cook, dance, and laugh.
I worked with Metro Nashville Public School for 6 years and fell in love with it. I was in the EL department as a Registar and worked with some amazing people. Working with international families was a blessing. I was able to learn about new cultures, customs, languages and advocate for families for different agencies. Prior to that, I was in the Security business for about 13 years. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t have that fulfillment in me of accomplishment that I was looking for.
I am currently working on my Pre-Law degree at Middle Tennessee State University with a minor in Psychology. My end goal is to be an Immigration Attorney. I have an Associate in Criminal Justice from Remington College. I also went to Nashville State Community College and graduated with a technical certificate in Police Admin and an Associate in Law Enforcement. I completed the Police Science Academy Course, Session 19, at Nashville State Community College. I am a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success. I`m also a member of Mosaico Church where I am the treasurer. I also volunteered in a non-profit organization that is called Grace Works located in Franklin.
