Brittania grew up in Northern California before moving to Los Angeles to attend University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After graduating UCLA with a B.A. in History and a minor in Political Science, Brittania pursued her teaching credential and Masters in Education. She taught 11th and 12th grade history at Theodore Roosevelt High School in East Los Angeles for a few years.
After teaching, Brittania returned to UCLA to attend their law school’s David J. Epstein Program in Public Interest Law and Policy and received her J.D. While in law school, she interned at the Children’s Defense Fund-CA, the Advancement Project, Ahrony, Graham & Zucker, LLP and the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office in their Juvenile Unit. Her time at the San Francisco’s Public Defender office cemented her desire to be a public defender.
Thus, after graduation, Brittania moved to Nashville and started working at the Nashville Defenders in 2016.
Outside of work, Brittania spends a lot of time at the playground, riding bikes, and eating French fries with her two young children and her husband Brian.
