Caroline is from Glasgow, Kentucky. She graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2017 with a B.A. in Public Policy Studies, concentrating on Criminal Justice Policy. She then graduated from Vanderbilt Law School in 2020. During law school, she interned with Nashville Defenders in both the adult and juvenile divisions and with Capital Appeals Project in New Orleans, Louisiana, providing representation to indigent defendants sentenced to death. She was a Dean’s Scholar, a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society, and a recipient of the Justice-Moore Family Scholarship. Following graduation, she was an associate attorney at the Louisville-Jefferson County Public Defender in Louisville, Kentucky, for two years. After a brief stint in corporate law, she realized indigent defense is her calling and found her way home to Nashville Defenders.
